The full-zip front has a full wind flap with zipper garage to keep you completely protected and we deliberately eliminated elastic at sleeve ends and hemline for less restriction. Review highlights

Reviews

Runs small especially thru hips

"Too fitted. I usually easily wear a large and this was too small. I should have read other reviews. Sadly returning."

— KD (4/5)

Too big

"It was too big. I returned it"

— Judy S. (5/5)

Great windbreaker jacket

"I bought this jacket to replace a very old windbreaker . I am 5'5" and 115 - 120 pounds. I bought a size small. It fits well, but snug. It is perfect for riding on windy days. I have worn it twice in temps of low 50's and winds 15 - 25 mph. It was great for those conditions. I have also used it for running. It is a little snug for that, but still worked well. I love the color and trim fit."

— PATRICIA K. (5/5)

Too Small

"This jacket runs small, especially in the hips. If you are larger on top and have smaller hips, this jacket will fit you perfectly. I had to return."

— Natalie O. (2/5)

I always wanted a purpose made cycling jacket,

"and I am glad I found this one :) It keeps me comfortable and visible for my commute home where early spring nights typically range 42-50F (5. 5- 10C) I usually wear XL tops, ~~38D bust. XXL fits me excellently. I would have appreciated left pockets just to feel balanced on both sides :) It wasn't a dealbreaker for me since there are indeed back pockets and I use a hip pack anyway."

— Joanna B. (5/5)

Improvement on previous version

"It's stylish, windproof, and breathable. I love the rear print design and back pockets. Like the previous version, this jacket packs small and is a good value."

— Annie F. (5/5)

Thermal bike jacket

"I really like the jacket although I haven’t worn it to bike. It’s the perfect weight for a cool day of biking. I ordered a large instead of a medium which worked out well."

— Dianne W. (5/5)

Kept me warm at temps between 40-45F

"The jacket kept me warm enough on rides when temperatures were between 40-45F. I wore a light shirt underneath. The jacket runs small especially if you have larger breasts. My usual medium size was too tight in the chest so I ordered a large which worked fine although the sleeves are too long."

— Adrienne D. (4/5)

It fits well -- still

"It fits well -- still to cold to ride in Vermont so haven't actually taken it for a spin yet!!!"

— Barbara B. (5/5)

Runs small

"I love this jacket, but had to return it. It was tight across the chest. Made well and beautiful color."

— Karen K. (5/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is built for wind protection first, not sustained rain. Its windproof front panel carries a plant-based DWR finish with no PFAS, which sheds light moisture and gets you through brief showers. It is not described as seam-taped or fully waterproof, so prolonged downpours will eventually soak through. If most of your riding happens in steady rain, a dedicated waterproof option like the Lupra 2.0 Bike Jacket or Swiftride GORE-TEX Bike Jacket will serve you better. For breezy, variable days with a chance of drizzle, the Hybrid Bike Jacket is well suited.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is designed for cool and transitional conditions where wind is the main concern. Its full windproof front panel blocks chill, while the back is built to move moisture and regulate temperature, so you stay protected without overheating during active efforts. At 230 gsm the fabric regulates rather than insulates heavily. Riders tackling genuinely cold or sub-freezing days need more warmth than this provides. For those conditions, a dedicated thermal jacket like the Velocity Thermal Bike Jacket or Core Bike SubZ Bike Jacket is the better call.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is a semi-fitted windbreaker with real on-ride storage and a more substantial feel, not an ultralight shell meant to crush into a jersey pocket. It offers three open rear pockets plus a hidden bonded front pocket to protect your phone, along with a structured build and high-visibility reflective detailing. If your priority is a minimalist layer you can stuff away when the sun comes out, the Mistral Packable Bike Jacket is the better fit. Riders who want wind protection they'll wear for most of the ride tend to prefer the Hybrid Bike Jacket.

Yes. The Hybrid Bike Jacket is built for riders who want to carry things without a separate bag. It has three open rear pockets shaped for easy access and finished with reflective taping, so they're both functional and visible. There's also a hidden bonded pocket inside the front of the jacket to keep your smartphone protected and secure. This makes the Hybrid Bike Jacket a practical choice for longer outings or commutes where you need storage for a phone, keys, snacks, or a spare layer.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket regulates temperature rather than insulating, so it earns its place in cool and transitional weather, not deep cold. Its windproof front blocks the chill that makes cool rides uncomfortable, while the breathable back prevents overheating on climbs and hard efforts. In genuinely cold or sub-freezing conditions it won't provide enough standalone warmth. Riders who need insulation as their primary goal should look to the Velocity Thermal Bike Jacket for cold days or the Core Bike SubZ Bike Jacket for sub-freezing rides.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket protects your whole upper body, including your arms, which matters on breezy, variable days when bare or lightly covered arms would feel the chill. Stretch panels on the backs of the arms keep you mobile on the bike while the windproof front blocks the wind. If your arms stay warm enough and you only need to shield your core against wind chill, a vest like the Mistral Packable Bike Vest gives you that core coverage with full arm freedom. Choose the Hybrid Bike Jacket when you want sleeve coverage too.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is designed to stay out of your way while riding. It has a semi-fitted cut and stretch panels on the backs of the arms that aid mobility when you're reaching for the bars. Terry also deliberately eliminated elastic at the sleeve ends and hemline, so there's less pinching and restriction as you move. A full wind flap with a zipper garage keeps the front sealed against wind without chafing your chin. This combination makes the Hybrid Bike Jacket comfortable for active, varied riding rather than just casual cruising.

Terry offers the Hybrid Bike Jacket in more than one version sharing the same hybrid construction: a windproof front, high-visibility reflective zipper, three rear pockets, and a hidden front phone pocket. The key difference is the back panel. One version uses a structured, durable non-stretch polyester back panel, while another uses a recycled polyester and spandex stretch back panel that moves and transports moisture more freely. Riders who want maximum rear stretch and mobility should look for the stretch-back version, item 601352. Otherwise, choose based on the back-panel feel and colorway you prefer.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket suits women who ride in cool, breezy, or transitional conditions and want one layer that blocks wind up front while staying breathable through the back. It's a strong pick if you value high-visibility reflective detailing, want practical on-ride storage including a protected phone pocket, and prefer the structured, durable back panel. Drawing on Terry's decades of designing for women cyclists, it balances wind protection and freedom of movement. If your rides mean sustained rain or real cold, a waterproof or thermal jacket will serve you better.
