Reviews

Unfortunately I wasn’t pleased with

"Unfortunately I wasn’t pleased with this jersey and returned it. It’s so difficult to get a grasp on fabric from online photos and descriptions. It was quite different than I had pictured. I didn’t like how shimmery the fabric was. The fit was fine. I am 5’3”, 129# and ordered a large. The sleeves were long , but that is typical for me."

"I bought it to give as a gift"

Good for Florida winters

"Pleased to add this one to my collection 😉 This particular style seems to run smaller than normal size large top…(across belly) Not sure what’s up with that, but my recommendation for this one would be to size up. I would say it’s more like a medium…"

thermal bike jersey

"i love this jersey - the colors are so vibrant and it's a nice weight for those in between temps - i got my usual size S and it fits beautifully"

Another winner -- prettiest graphics ever

"Oh my, the colors and graphics! This might be the prettiest of all my Terry jerseys (and I must have at least twenty by now). So it's gorgeous, more so than the photo, but the fabric is also wonderful. I have several Terry thermal winter jerseys from years ago and still wear them but this fabric is much nicer and I like the neck zip (former ones had a diagonal zipper in front). Pockets seem extra deep, too. Clearly since I got this today I haven't worn it but since I've been wearing Terry almost since they went in business, I have no doubt about comfort, etc. The fit is fine. But back to . . . the graphics and colors -- it doesn't make me a stronger or faster rider but nobody makes jerseys with graphics like Terry."

Perfect

"Soft and warm, great fit and bright colors - worked perfect under a windbreaker on a sunny high 30s ride along the lake."

— Christina J. (5/5)

Warm and Pretty!

"Wore it on a 2 hour colder ride recently and it was great! Love that it keeps me warm and still has the 3 back pockets. Got 3 compliments on the color too!"

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Thermal Bike Jersey is built for cool and cold-weather riding, making it a strong choice for fall and winter rides where warmth matters. It uses a recycled fabric with microfleece next to the skin to trap heat while wicking moisture, keeping you dry and comfortable through longer days in the saddle. If most of your riding happens in warm or hot conditions, a lightweight UPF option like the Soleil Long Sleeve Bike Top would suit you better, since the Thermal Bike Jersey is designed to retain warmth rather than shed it.

The Thermal Bike Jersey works both ways. It's one of Terry's best-selling mid-layer thermals, but the microfleece lining next to the skin feels good enough that many riders wear it solo. On milder cool days it can carry a ride on its own, and when temperatures drop you can layer it under a vest or jacket for added warmth. That versatility is the reason riders reach for the Thermal Bike Jersey across a range of cool-weather conditions rather than owning separate pieces for each.

The Thermal Bike Jersey is designed for riders spending longer days in the saddle during cool weather. Its recycled microfleece fabric wicks moisture away from the skin, so you stay dry and warm even as effort and temperature shift through a ride. Three rear open pockets give you room to carry what you need for longer outings. Together, the moisture management and storage make the Thermal Bike Jersey a dependable choice for riders who want sustained comfort rather than just short-ride warmth.

The Thermal Bike Jersey has a semi-fitted cut designed specifically to layer easily without restricting movement. Raglan sleeves give you improved freedom of movement across the shoulders, which matters when you're reaching for the bars or adding a layer underneath. If you ride in colder conditions and want to wear it over a base layer, the semi-fitted shape leaves room without feeling baggy. Riders who want a close performance fit should keep that layering allowance in mind when choosing a size for the Thermal Bike Jersey.

The Thermal Bike Jersey and the Thermal Full Zip Bike Jersey share the same warm, moisture-wicking thermal purpose, but they differ in closure. If you want to easily vent heat on climbs, regulate temperature as conditions change, or get in and out of the jersey more quickly, the Thermal Full Zip Bike Jersey is the version to consider. If you prefer the simplicity and clean lines of a standard neckline, the Thermal Bike Jersey covers the same cool-weather riding beautifully. The choice comes down to how much on-the-fly temperature control you want.

The Thermal Bike Jersey earns its place in cool and cold-weather riding, but it isn't the right tool for every condition. If most of your riding is in warm or hot weather and you want arm coverage mainly for sun protection, a UPF-rated option like the Sunblocker Bike Jersey fits better. If your rides turn genuinely cold and you need wind or weather protection rather than just insulation, reaching for a packable jacket will serve you better than a jersey alone.

The Thermal Bike Jersey has three rear open pockets, which handle the essentials for most longer rides in cool weather. If you routinely carry more — extra layers, tools, food for all-day or multi-hour outings — and find three pockets limiting, the SubZ LS Bike Jersey offers extra pocket capacity while still delivering cold-weather warmth. For riders whose storage needs are moderate, the Thermal Bike Jersey's pocket layout is well suited to longer days in the saddle without the bulk of added storage.

The Thermal Bike Jersey is well suited to fall and shoulder-season riding, where temperatures swing and a single warm layer often does the job. Its microfleece lining provides warmth while wicking moisture, so you stay comfortable as effort rises and the air stays cool. On the mildest days you can wear it solo, and as it gets colder you can layer it. That adaptability, backed by Terry's long experience designing for women cyclists, makes the Thermal Bike Jersey a practical anchor for a transitional-weather wardrobe.
