product care
Remove your knickers and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Fitting is strange

"The waist is good fits like a size medium. However, the legs are large, more like a large size - loose fitting. I ordered a medium. A small would fit the legs and chamois. The fit vs is not good"

Perfect for winter commuting in Texas

"I commute by bike a couple of times a week in DFW and it gets cold, but not frigid most of the winter. And it's usually warmer on the way home than it is in the mornings. These tights are perfect for the 25-40 degree temps that don't warrant full length tights. The fleece is cozy and warm, but not too hot. The side pockets are great for phones and my work id. And the waist is high enough that you don't have to worry about it rolling down during your ride. I might buy another pair to supplement for next winter."

Very Nice Tights

"I found that the Hi Rise Thermal Tights are warm and cozy, really good for cold rides. I bought a size Large, and I thought the tights fit well, like my other Hi Rise Terry tights. My only negative on these particular tights is the chamois; there seems to be too much of it, and it bunches up, especially when I am off my bike, sitting or walking around."

The waist stitching is too tight for the Sizing

"I was excited to pull these out of the bag. The fabric is plush. The calf opening has no elastic but the cut and stretch of the material was perfect to slide on. However, the "trying on" stopped at my thighs! The waist did not stretch any more. My thighs measured 35" at that level. I ordered a size Large for 5'5" 140 lb- 30. 5 waist and 40" hips. A Size large waist (31-32) should be able to stretch over 40" hips in order to pull these capris on! The stitching at the waist needs to be more elastic/stretchy. Sadly, I returned these."

Great for colder days!

"Tested these yesterday on a ~55 degree ride and they were great!! I love the pockets and the fact that it is hi rise so I never have to worry about coverage back there! Kept me warm the entire 2 hour ride. The chamois was perfect. No complaints. If you already have and love the regular hi rise capri/knickers you will love these for the colder days. I even think this chamois is better."

— Nicole I. (5/5)

Comfortable

"Runs large compared to cycling apparel. I would order based on street clothes sizes. Warm and comfortable,"

— Donna G. (5/5)

Thermal capri

"Love these. I’ve been wearing them on rides down into the 40’s and they are great!"

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri is built specifically for cool-weather and shoulder-season riding, not hot summer conditions. Its thermal paneled fabric adds warmth as temperatures drop, which means it will feel too warm once the mercury climbs. If you want below-knee coverage for sun protection on warm-weather rides, the Breakaway Bike Knicker is the better choice — it uses a lightweight, silky fabric that performs across a wide temperature range rather than trapping heat.

The Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri suits women who keep riding as the temperatures drop and want more than a standard short can offer. It delivers below-knee leg coverage plus an ultra-high comfort waistband, making it ideal for cool-weather and shoulder-season rides. The cozy thermal fabric adds warmth without bulk, and the paneled construction keeps coverage comfortable. If most of your riding happens in chilly conditions and you value both warmth and torso coverage, the Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri earns its place in your kit.

The Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri features a wide, hi-rise comfort waist that extends coverage up the torso and stays put through the forward-leaning riding position. This matters for riders who dislike gaps between jersey and short in cool weather, or who simply prefer more support and warmth around the midsection. The waistband is comfort-oriented rather than compressive, so it holds its position without squeezing — a good fit for riders who want all-day wearability over a tight performance feel.

The Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri uses the Italian-made Fleet Chamois, a seamless pad with four-way-stretch Elastic Interface Technology. Its smooth microfiber cover and soft construction reduce bulk at the inner thigh to avoid chafing, providing support and ventilation for full-day and longer cool-weather rides. The Fleet chamois sits above entry-level comfort pads but below touring and premium grades. Riders doing endurance distances or multi-day touring who need maximum padding may prefer the Bike Knicker with its Flex Air Tour chamois.

The Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri gives you below-knee coverage with thermal warmth, which suits shoulder-season and cool-weather rides where you still want your lower legs free. If your riding happens in genuinely cold conditions and you want full leg coverage down to the ankle, the Coolweather Bike Tight is the better fit — it is designed for roughly 40 to 60 degree temperatures with a moderate chamois. Choose the capri for chill, the tight for cold.

The Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri offers minimal compression, favoring comfort and easy wear over a compressive performance feel. The wide hi-rise waistband is built for coverage and support rather than squeeze, so it stays put without pressure. This suits riders who prefer a relaxed, cozy fit on cool-weather rides. If you want a firmer, muscle-supporting compression fit in a high-rise knicker, consider a knicker with moderate or high compression such as the Bella Prima Bike Knicker.

The Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri includes double drop-in side pockets that keep your phone and essentials accessible while you ride. This appeals to riders who want pocket access without relying solely on a jersey, especially useful in cooler weather when layers shift. If hip pocket access is a top priority but you want a lighter, non-thermal option for milder conditions, the Hi Rise Holster Bike Capri offers deep mesh hip pockets with a Flex Air chamois.

The Thermal Hi-Rise Bike Capri is a cool-weather, shoulder-season piece, so it is less ideal when conditions change. If you want below-knee coverage for sun protection on warm rides, the Breakaway Bike Knicker uses lightweight fabric across a wide temperature range. For a high-rise capri without thermal fabric in milder weather, the Hi Rise Holster Bike Capri suits better. And for endurance or touring distance needing maximum padding, the Bike Knicker with Flex Air Tour chamois is the stronger match.
