fit notes
If your hip measurement falls in between sizes, please size down.
product care
Remove your shorts and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

Thin silky material, fit may be weird

"I only tried these on because they aren't what I need, but they are really comfortable. The material is really thin and silky which isn't quite what I was expecting. I think they would be perfect for casual rides where you need just a little protection and also to stay breezy and cool. The chamois is sewn into these looser shorts, so I do think the front of the crotch can look pretty awkward depending on how they fit you and the padding is definitely visible so that's something to think about if you wanted to be able to wear these around a store or something. I also think adjustable tabs around the waist like what MTB short have would be a nice addition."

Love the softness of the

"Love the softness of the lightweight fabric and especially that the shorts are a bit loose - like daywear shorts."

— Marianna C. (5/5)

Fixie bike short

"Amazing, comfortable and light. My favorite shorts right now. It does run big, so I sized down."

— Vicki S. (5/5)

Love but waistband fails quickly

"I own two pair and love them but the waistband loses its shape and strength very quickly. I wish they would improve this poor quality construction."

— Patti (3/5)

Shorts great/padding too light

"Wish there was better saddle padding"

— Missy A. (3/5)

Good shorts without compression

"Extremely comfortable! These slip on easily. I can no longer tolerate compression due to a health condition and these shorts are an excellent alternative. The legs do not ride up at all!! The pad is a little light but felt pretty good on a 15 mile ride. Haven’t had a chance to do a longer ride with them yet. It’s been super hot lately and these shorts felt airy and light."

— Donna H. (5/5)

Tailored to unfit

"The section was tailored terribly."

— Maria L. (1/5)

Poor fit

"I found the shorts to be too long and bulky."

— Linda S. (1/5)

Great biking pant!

"Comfortable fit, and nice looking. I'll buy another!"

— Marcie Z. (5/5)

Love!!

"So happy with these shorts! I've never really felt comfortable in the traditional tight cycling shorts and I'm so glad to see the new "baggy" style! I didn't realize these were pull on, but that is OK. These are so comfortable to wear and you hardly notice the liner. Very glad I got them."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Fixie Bike Short is designed specifically for riders who don't want to look like they're wearing cycling kit. It has loose, tapered, elastic-free legs that resemble normal shorts, a wide elastic-free waistband, and casual styling with a side zip pocket and two rear patch pockets. Inside is a padded Slite chamois that melts away unseen. If form-fitting Lycra makes you self-conscious, the Fixie Bike Short gives you chamois comfort in a stealthy, street-friendly package.

The Fixie Bike Short suits commuters, fitness riders, and everyday cyclists who want padded comfort without the fitted-kit look. Made of a heathered Italian performance fabric with loose, tapered legs and a built-in Slite chamois, it works well for commuting, indoor cycling, and short to moderate rides. Riders who dislike compression and prefer relaxed, casual styling tend to gravitate toward the Fixie Bike Short. It's often a first dedicated cycling short for someone stepping up from regular athletic shorts.

The Fixie Bike Short offers minimal compression by design. Its 4-way stretch construction prioritizes ease of movement and relaxed comfort over muscular support, so you won't get the locked-in feel of a fitted performance short. This suits riders who find compression uncomfortable or unnecessary for fitness and commuting. If you're looking for muscle support or an aerodynamic, snug fit, the Fixie Bike Short isn't built for that — a fitted short like the Actif Bike Short would serve you better.

The Fixie Bike Short uses Terry's Slite chamois — a seamless, smaller, lighter pad with minimal open-cell foam, soft wing construction, an antimicrobial cover, and Elastic Interface Technology. It's tuned to disappear inside the short and provide enough protection for fitness rides, commuting, and moderate distances. The Fixie Bike Short is not intended for century or endurance riding. If your rides are getting longer and you want more saddle-time support, consider the Bella Bike Short or Breakaway Bike Short.

The Fixie Bike Short earns its place for fitness and moderate riding with a relaxed look, but it has clear limits. If your rides are getting longer and you need more chamois support, the Bella Bike Short or Breakaway Bike Short are better suited to endurance saddle time. If you want a snug, aerodynamic fitted short rather than a loose fit, look at the Actif Bike Short. For multi-day or long-distance touring, the Touring Bike Short/Regular is the right choice.

Yes — the Fixie Bike Short includes a smartphone-friendly side zip pocket on the hip plus two open rear patch pockets, much like everyday shorts. This makes the Fixie Bike Short practical for commuting and running errands on the bike, where you want to carry a phone, keys, or cards without a jersey. Combined with its casual styling that resembles normal shorts, the pockets reinforce its role as a chamois short you can wear off the bike too.

The Fixie Bike Short falls in the 9-inch-plus length category with roughly a 10.75-inch inseam and loose, tapered, elastic-free legs. This gives longer, looser coverage than typical fitted shorts, which suits riders who prefer more leg coverage and a relaxed opening without tight gripper bands. If you want to go further and prefer knee-length coverage, the Actif Bike Knicker extends the idea into a knicker length while keeping a fitness-oriented chamois.

Both the Fixie Bike Short and the Actif Bike Short are fitness shorts for everyday and moderate riding, but they fit very differently. The Fixie Bike Short is a loose-fit, minimal-compression short with tapered legs that resemble normal shorts and a casual, non-kit look. The Actif Bike Short is a snug, fitted cycling short. If you want relaxed styling and a street-friendly appearance, choose the Fixie Bike Short; if you prefer a traditional close-fitting cycling short, the Actif Bike Short is the better match.

Yes — that's part of the appeal of the Fixie Bike Short. It's a padded, stretchy, loose-fit bike short with a figure-flattering rear panel and tapered legs that read as normal shorts rather than Lycra kit, so riders who don't identify with the fitted-cyclist look feel comfortable in it. If you want an even more relaxed, overtly baggy aesthetic, Terry's Liberty Bike Short offers a loose fit with a sewn-in chamois, and the Rover Bike Short with Liner pairs a baggy outer with a separate liner.
