Description
Spend enough time in the saddle and you’ll find yourself contemplating the “what ifs” of the perfect kit. We developed the Madame X with high expectations to be the best bib for women, designed for optimal all-day riding and to hit every mark of comfort and performance. Our Flex Air Carbon chamois with low-bulk, multi-density padding and X-tract fabric with heightened moisture transfer and natural antistatic and antimicrobial properties lays the foundation for your ride. Meanwhile, our quickest drying, high compression fabric and the high rise of this bib short work together to provide full core support and reduce fatigue on your hamstrings and quadriceps. The minimally constructed waist panel is finished with a soft, nylon binding for next-to-skin comfort and flatlock seaming throughout eliminates the risk of chafing. Elasticized straps make getting this bib on quick and easy while the rear mesh panel keeps airflow moving and prevents straps from slipping when in action. The Madame X is finished with a silicone chain gripper on the inside of the leg hem to keep things gently in place and she has a nicely integrated smartphone pocket. No matter your riding discipline, Madame X is designed to enhance it.

Chamois
Flex Air Carbon Chamois: The same excellent shape, foam and perforation construction details as our Flex Air Chamois, but with a new high performance fabric made of a blend of X-tract with special channel structure and Carbonium with carbon threading. This combination results in a higher level of moisture transfer, faster drying, natural antistatic and antimicrobial properties and a softer, breathable surface fabric. Made in Italy. Compare all chamois choices.
product care
Remove your shorts and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Xactly What I Wanted!

"Madame X Bib Short has the features and comfort I need in a cycling bib - fitted without squeezing, stay-put bib, comfortable padding, and a very handy pocket on the leg. Highly recommend!"

Cynthia C. (5/5)

Excellent

"I bought these without reading any reviews and have been really pleased. They fit really nicely, just like other Terry shorts. The chamois is the same one that is in the Gravel shorts - and works really well for me on shorter trainer rides (20-25 miles) or on my mountain bike, and I like how comfortable they are. The leg grippers are super comfortable. If you like Terry, I recommend trying these. I only wish they made bibs with a more ‘cushy’ pad that I could use for longer rides on the trainer."

Meg H. (5/5)

these bibs look great and

"these bibs look great and I like the what may be called a thin privacy panel on the back. Very comfortable!"

Tammi K. (5/5)

Don't fear the bibs!

"These bibs are really great. There's just enough compression, and they're super comfortable for long rides. For gals who are skeptical of bibs because of the pain in the keister when you have to pee. . . you can actually wear these comfortably WITHOUT the straps if you need to. I do that for spin classes eg."

Great bibs

"Finding bibs for my body (5’9”, 240#) has been hard. I like these bibs a lot! These would be improved with a different chamois or more chamois options but the bibs themselves fit great. Also could be improved with two pockets."

Alexis S. (4/5)

Update: the second generation is better

"I purchased the “original generation” (OG) Madame X in 2023(?) and an updated one in 2024(?). The OG leg gripper was essentially “tape,” and has disintegrated over time. The second generation gripper is still going strong. I do find these shorts very smoothing, tummy-wise, and I love them."

CandaceC (4/5)

Not for my body type

"I’ve got cyclist legs so I find the shorts that fit my legs are too big elsewhere and the size that fits elsewhere don’t fit my legs! Sigh. 😔"

Jamie K. (5/5)

Really comfortable

"Well made. True to size. So nice not having a waist band!! I’m hooked on bibs. Highly recommend."

Rebecca B. (5/5)

"No complaints! Comfortable bib! Has one pocket on right side. Would be nice to have one on both sides!"

Nicole I. (5/5)

My favorite bibs

"I love these bibs enough to buy a second pair! The mesh back is great for hot weather. The leg silicone grips actually work and stay put. The single pocket is perfect as I also wear jerseys and feel the cargo-type bib shorts are sometimes overkill with pockets. The high rise of these bibs is very comfortable. I'd say the only downside is no easy bathroom breaks, but that's not something that truly bothers me."
