Gore C5 Bike Glove

"Well, sorry to say this glove was a big disappointment. I love Gorewear apparel & gloves. But, unfortunately this glove is not for me. The palms are no longer leather(vinyl) and fingers though for my big hand were still very long. I own a cool weather Gore glove that I have had for at least 10 years & the quality of this one is not there."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The C5 GTX Thermo Bike Glove is built for riders facing genuinely cold, wet, worst-weather conditions. It uses GORE-TEX technology to stay waterproof and windproof while remaining breathable, and a polyester thermo insulation lining adds warmth. This is the glove to reach for when conditions turn truly cold and wet rather than just cool. Riders who commute through winter rain or push through sustained cold rides find the C5 GTX Thermo keeps hands protected when lighter gloves would soak through.

Yes. The C5 GTX Thermo Bike Glove uses GORE-TEX technology to be waterproof and windproof while staying extremely breathable, so rain and wind chill are blocked without your hands overheating or getting clammy. This matters on long, wet rides where cheaper gloves eventually let water seep in and leave your fingers cold and numb. If most of your riding happens in sustained rain and cold, the C5 GTX Thermo is engineered specifically to handle that worst-weather combination.

The C5 GTX Thermo Bike Glove sits at the coldest end of the glove range, built for genuinely cold and wet rides rather than cool transitional weather. Its thermo lining and polyester insulation add warmth that cool-season gloves lack. For most riders the combination of GORE-TEX weather sealing and insulation handles the cold, wet conditions where hand numbness sets in. If you want even more warmth and are willing to trade dexterity, a mitten-style option like the Windshear Bike Lobster Mitts may suit the harshest days better.

The C5 GTX Thermo Bike Glove comes in unisex sizing rather than a women's-specific fit. Terry recommends it based on warmth needs for really cold, wet conditions, where its GORE-TEX waterproofing and thermo lining matter most. If a women's-tailored glove fit is your priority over maximum weather protection, you may prefer a different option. But riders who are comfortable with unisex sizing and need serious protection from cold and rain tend to find the C5 GTX Thermo worth it.

The C5 GTX Thermo Bike Glove is not intended for warm-weather or summer riding. Its GORE-TEX construction and thermo insulation lining are built to trap warmth and block cold, wet conditions, which would leave your hands overheated on a hot ride. If your main need is road vibration protection on warm days, the T-Gloves are the better starting point, and for warm-weather sun protection the Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves are designed for that purpose instead.

The right choice depends on how cold and wet your rides really are. The C5 GTX Thermo Bike Glove is a worst-weather glove with GORE-TEX waterproofing, windproofing, and a thermo insulation lining for genuinely cold, wet conditions. If your riding is cool but not truly cold or wet, that insulation becomes overkill and reduces dexterity. In that case the Windshear Bike Gloves offer lighter windproof protection for transitional weather without the added warmth, which keeps your hands comfortable rather than overheated.

Yes, the C5 GTX Thermo Bike Glove includes foam padding on the palm for comfort against road vibration. That said, padding is a secondary feature on this glove, as its design priority is cold and wet weather protection through GORE-TEX waterproofing, windproofing, and a thermo insulation lining. Riders choosing the C5 GTX Thermo are usually solving for warmth and weather sealing first, with the palm padding offering a bit of extra comfort rather than being the main reason to choose it.
