product care
Remove your shorts and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Ruined a perfectly lovely product

"I have several prior years of the soleil short that fit like a glove. I just ordered a few new ones, and the material is totally different (much thinner and less stretchy) and they are tiny compared to the older models. Super disappointed in the changes and will be returning them."

Love these, perfect for me

"Love these cycling shorts! the print is cute, the pockets make them useful for off-bike, and the chamois is good for 50+ mils [i haven't ridden further than that yet with these shorts]"

— robyn w. (5/5)

I love the look! But

"I love the look! But it's a little tight in the waist. I was told I could ride in it and see if it 'gives' a little. If not, I can return it."

— kathleen s. (5/5)

Beautiful bike short, form fitting

"Beautiful bike short, form fitting and long enough for my long legs. Had to work to pull them over my hips but they stretched out enough and feel perfect. Haven't biked with them yet but looking forward to it."

— Stefanie C. (5/5)

I needed to return for

"I needed to return for a larger size."

— Kathleen S. (5/5)

Super cute shorts.

"These shorts are so cute, I love that they match my jersey perfectly. I would like a slightly more robust shimmy, but they are fine for a 30 mile ride."

— Suzanna S. (4/5)

Biking shorts

"Super comfortable. I was skeptical at first, because there is much less padding than other bike shorts I own. No riding sores, so I am sold! I cannot wait to purchase more!"

— Kim A. (5/5)

Way to small

"I typically wear a large, but I have lost 35 pounds and the large bottoms I have from this brand are loose. I ordered a medium, and couldn’t even get them up over my hips. I ordered a large and they are snug. If I was in a store, I probably would have gone to XL, but just didn’t want to do another return. And besides? I have worked so hard to lose 35 pounds, who wants clothes that are still XL??? 5-5, 128 pound"

Great shorts

"Really like the lightweight comfort & fit. The long pocket is very helpful & the color, bright & energetic."

— Malika W. (5/5)

Legs are 2 sizes to small

"According to the size chart I needed a medium. I ordered a large and I could only pull them up to mid thigh. If I could get them over my thighs, I suspect that the waist and hips would fit. If your thighs are a size 4 in jeans, the legs would fit, but I suspect everything else would be to big."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Cyclone Bike Short is designed for women who want everyday riding comfort paired with a fun printed design. It suits riders doing regular rides who value comfort over a tight race feel. With moderate compression, an elastic-free waistband, and Terry's Fleet Air chamois, the Cyclone fits riders who ride for enjoyment and comfort. If you want a short that feels comfortable mile after mile, the Cyclone is a natural fit.

The Cyclone Bike Short carries Terry's Fleet Air chamois, a seamless pad built with 4-way stretch Elastic Interface Technology and multi-level foam that's perforated for ventilation and breathability. Its soft-wing construction reduces bulk at the inner thigh to help prevent chafing. This is everyday comfort padding, well matched to regular rides where you want reliable cushioning without a bulky feel. Riders who want Terry's most cushioned pad for long distances should look at a short with a higher-grade endurance chamois instead.

The Cyclone Bike Short uses a 2-inch elastic-free comfort waistband and a silicone-free, double-needle turned-back hem rather than a tight gripper construction. For riders who find elastic waistbands or silicone leg grippers irritating against the skin, this gives the Cyclone a relaxed, everyday-comfort feel. Flat seam construction further helps prevent chafing. This makes the Cyclone a good choice for women who prioritize all-day comfort and a soft, non-pinching fit over a locked-down performance hold.

The Cyclone Bike Short offers moderate compression from a recycled nylon and spandex blend, with 78% recycled nylon and 22% spandex in the body. This is positioned for comfortable, supportive riding rather than a snug, muscle-compressing race fit. Riders who want a looser, relaxed feel on regular rides will find the Cyclone's moderate level well judged. If you specifically want higher compression for a tighter, performance-oriented hold, the Power Bike Short delivers that snugger fit.

Yes, the Cyclone Bike Short includes a mesh side pocket, giving you a handy spot to tuck small essentials like a key or a gel on regular rides. Combined with its everyday comfort features and fun print placement, the pocket adds practical versatility without turning the Cyclone into a heavily equipped performance short. For riders who want casual convenience alongside comfortable riding, the mesh side pocket is a welcome touch.

The Cyclone Bike Short is built around everyday comfort with moderate compression and Terry's Fleet Air chamois. If your riding has shifted toward a snugger, race-oriented fit, the higher-compression Power Bike Short will serve you better. If you're taking on centuries, endurance days, or touring and want Terry's most cushioned pad, the Long Haul Bike Short provides maximum chamois support. The Cyclone earns its place when comfort and a fun design matter more than maximum compression or endurance-grade padding.

The main difference is compression and fit intent. The Cyclone Bike Short offers moderate compression with an elastic-free waistband and silicone-free hem, giving a comfortable, everyday feel. The Power Bike Short is built for higher compression and a snugger, more performance-oriented hold. Riders who want a comfortable, easy-wearing short for regular rides tend to prefer the Cyclone, while those who want a tighter, supportive fit for harder efforts lean toward the Power. Both reflect Terry's women-specific approach to comfort.

The Cyclone Bike Short handles regular and moderately long rides comfortably thanks to its breathable, perforated Fleet Air chamois and chafe-reducing flat seam construction. That said, it's built around everyday comfort padding rather than Terry's most cushioned endurance pad. If most of your riding involves centuries, all-day efforts, or multi-day touring, the Long Haul Bike Short offers maximum chamois cushioning better suited to time in the saddle. For enjoyable everyday and weekend riding, the Cyclone is comfortable and well equipped.
