Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers.Remove your tights and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Perfect fit! Comfy, but practical.

"Perfect fit! Comfy, but practical. Very light weight, but good seasonal transitional pants."

— Karen K. (5/5)

Fit big I like them

"Fit big I like them but a return is too expensive so not using them :("

— Chris P. (5/5)

I love these pants

"I got the medium (5’6, 145 lbs). They fit loose through the legs and I had to tighten the waist quite a bit - super easy to do. They are the perfect weight … thin, breathable, flexible. I mountain biked in them the day I got them. My Phone stayed put in the side pocket. They are a bit expensive, but I expect to have these for years and years and years."

— Kathleen M. (5/5)

Nice. . . Modest. . . just what I needed.

"Purchased these to have modest pair of cycling trousers for an upcoming move to the UK, where I plan to cycle to get groceries and many other experiences where modesty will be essential. I wore these for the first time today on a 4 mile round trip to the grocery store on a belt-drive bicycle (no leg grease), on a 58 degree overcast morning. The fit was as other reviewers described, and was better than I've experienced in the past with other Terry mountain-bike styled bottoms. This pant has just enough stretch, and the cut is good for someone who has a fit, but well endowed backside. :-) I love the articulated legs, waist adjustment, and zip at the ankle. The pants were comfortable to ride in with the addition of a padded bike short/liner. I do wonder how this pant might fare for those at risk for greasy/dirty chains. Be prepared to apply laundry soap directly to get that out. But for my purposes, this pant is perfect."

— Kim R. (4/5)

Baggy around thighs and waist

"Baggy around thighs and waist and tight from knees down. Makes for unattractive ballooning. Not built for someone 5'1"."

— Kristen C. (3/5)

Purchased these in shorts over

"Purchased these in shorts over summer and returned them for same reason. Tried a different style pants yet in a size larger. Which was too big at waist. The pants create folds at groin area as shown in pic. The crotch is just too high no matter which size I chose."

— Adrienne P. (5/5)

The inseam is longer, but is needed.

"I like zip front or side pockets and a loose/relaxed fit. I have a 28 inch inseam, so I wondered if the 29. 5 inch inseam would work for me. I discovered that one needs the extra length when riding or sitting. At the ankle the width of the pant is close, but adjustable with the zipper. I recommend the gravel pant for riding and casual wear."

— Jane P. (5/5)

Great for biking and hiking

"These pants are very versatile. I've used them biking, hiking and gardening. The material is tough but still light and stretchy enough to be comfortable. I'm curvy and on the shorter side (5'4") and these pants fit great."

— Alysia (5/5)

Love them for a shorter woman

"The look and fit of these pants are great on me. I don’t think they’d be terribly comfortable on a much taller person than I (5’3”) as the ankles are tighter. You can unzip that portion of the pants leg however. They’re stylish, sport, have cool pockets and fitting adjustments."

— Leanne P. (5/5)

Love these pants need another pair

"These pants are my go to. Comfortable , look great. Pockets are nice. Sized a little large."

— Becky C. (5/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Terry Gravel Bike Pant is sold unpadded, which is a deliberate design choice rather than an omission. Riders who want a chamois can pair the pant with a padded liner of their own choosing, or simply wear it over existing bike shorts. This flexibility is also what lets the Gravel Bike Pant double as a hiking, climbing, camping, or dog-walking pant off the bike. If you'd rather have the chamois built in and not think about layering, the Wayfarer Bike Tight is a better match.

The Terry Gravel Bike Pant is built for riders who scoff at the idea of an off-season and want more leg coverage than shorts provide. It suits cooler-temperature and year-round riding, trail contexts where debris protection matters, and riders who prefer choosing their own padded liner. The lightweight stretch woven twill moves with you when pedaling, and because the Gravel Bike Pant is unpadded, it transitions easily to hiking, camping, or everyday wear. It's a strong pick if versatility on and off the bike matters to you.

The Terry Gravel Bike Pant is positioned for cooler temperatures, the off-season, and year-round rides where you want more coverage than shorts offer. It's not a peak-summer-heat garment, nor is it a full winter-weight thermal tight. Think of it as the pant you reach for once temperatures drop and you want more leg coverage without a heavily insulated build. If you're riding in genuinely cold, sub-40-degree conditions, a thermal option like the Thermal Bike Tight will serve you better than the Gravel Bike Pant.

The Terry Gravel Bike Pant is not marketed as waterproof or windproof. Its protective value is against trail debris and rough conditions, not sustained rain or wind. The stretch woven twill handles dirt and brush on gravel and trail, but it's a coverage pant, not a weather shell. If most of your riding involves sustained rain or you need a true wet-weather layer, look to a waterproof option like the ADV Endur Hydro Bike Pant instead of the Gravel Bike Pant.

The Terry Gravel Bike Pant tends to run a bit large. If you're between sizes or you prefer a tighter, more fitted feel, Terry recommends sizing down. This matters because the pant is built with minimal compression and a stretch-twill construction intended for ease of movement, so the base fit is relaxed rather than snug. Choosing the right size up front ensures the Gravel Bike Pant sits the way you want, whether you're on the bike or wearing it off the bike.

The Terry Gravel Bike Pant delivers full-leg coverage with a 28.5-inch inseam, higher rear waist shaping for better on-bike coverage, and an elasticized ankle cuff that prevents loose fabric from flapping or catching. Diamond gusset construction through the crotch keeps the fit rideable and reduces chafing. For riders who want more coverage than a short or knicker provides, especially in cooler conditions, the Gravel Bike Pant offers full-length protection while staying comfortable through a full range of pedaling motion.

The Terry Gravel Bike Pant appeals to riders who value versatility and want to control their own chamois choice. Because it's sold unpadded, you can pair it with any padded liner you like or wear it over bike shorts, and that same flexibility lets it serve as a hiking, camping, or everyday pant. A compressive chamois tight locks you into one use. If you'd rather not layer and want an integrated chamois ready to ride, the Wayfarer Bike Tight is the more direct option than the Gravel Bike Pant.

The Terry Gravel Bike Pant offers minimal compression and is built from stretch woven twill designed for ease of movement and off-bike versatility, not a muscle-supporting, compressive fit. Riders who want that performance feel on longer or faster rides will find a dedicated compressive tight a better match. But if you want a rideable pant that doubles for hiking, climbing, and casual wear without the snug, race-oriented feel, the relaxed, moveable construction of the Gravel Bike Pant is exactly the point.

Yes, the Terry Gravel Bike Pant is intentionally designed for dual use. Because it's sold unpadded, there's no chamois to make it awkward off the bike, so it works well for hiking, climbing, camping, dog-walking, and post-ride gatherings. Practical details like secure pockets, ankle zippers, articulated knees, an adjustable waist, and an elasticized leg cuff support that range of activity. If you want one pant that handles gravel riding and everyday outdoor use, the Gravel Bike Pant is built with that versatility in mind.
