Reviews

Not a keeper

"I really wanted to like this but I’m returning it. The material is very odd - kind of stiff and the lining is not soft. The sleeves were too long on me while everywhere else fits fine. The one zippered pocket is small and in a bad location. All in all not a keeper for me."

— Valerie M. (2/5)

Runs small especially thru hips

"Too fitted. I usually easily wear a large and this was too small. I should have read other reviews. Sadly returning."

— KD (4/5)

Too big

"It was too big. I returned it"

— Judy S. (5/5)

Great windbreaker jacket

"I bought this jacket to replace a very old windbreaker . I am 5'5" and 115 - 120 pounds. I bought a size small. It fits well, but snug. It is perfect for riding on windy days. I have worn it twice in temps of low 50's and winds 15 - 25 mph. It was great for those conditions. I have also used it for running. It is a little snug for that, but still worked well. I love the color and trim fit."

— PATRICIA K. (5/5)

Too Small

"This jacket runs small, especially in the hips. If you are larger on top and have smaller hips, this jacket will fit you perfectly. I had to return."

— Natalie O. (2/5)

I always wanted a purpose made cycling jacket,

"and I am glad I found this one :) It keeps me comfortable and visible for my commute home where early spring nights typically range 42-50F (5. 5- 10C) I usually wear XL tops, ~~38D bust. XXL fits me excellently. I would have appreciated left pockets just to feel balanced on both sides :) It wasn't a dealbreaker for me since there are indeed back pockets and I use a hip pack anyway."

— Joanna B. (5/5)

Improvement on previous version

"It's stylish, windproof, and breathable. I love the rear print design and back pockets. Like the previous version, this jacket packs small and is a good value."

— Annie F. (5/5)

Thermal bike jacket

"I really like the jacket although I haven’t worn it to bike. It’s the perfect weight for a cool day of biking. I ordered a large instead of a medium which worked out well."

— Dianne W. (5/5)

Kept me warm at temps between 40-45F

"The jacket kept me warm enough on rides when temperatures were between 40-45F. I wore a light shirt underneath. The jacket runs small especially if you have larger breasts. My usual medium size was too tight in the chest so I ordered a large which worked fine although the sleeves are too long."

— Adrienne D. (4/5)

It fits well -- still

"It fits well -- still to cold to ride in Vermont so haven't actually taken it for a spin yet!!!"

— Barbara B. (5/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Hybrid Bike Jacket suits women riders who want wind protection without overheating on climbs or during hard efforts. It blocks wind fully across the front with a windproof polyester-spandex fabric and plant-based DWR finish, while the rear uses a moisture-transport stretch panel for temperature regulation. That split construction means you stay shielded against headwinds and chill while your back breathes and sheds heat. It's a strong choice for women cyclists who ride in variable conditions and don't want to carry a separate shell.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is windproof across the front only. The front uses a windproof 94% polyester, 6% spandex fabric with a plant-based DWR finish, plus a full wind flap and zipper garage so wind can't sneak through the closure. The rear is intentionally different: a 78% recycled polyester, 22% spandex stretch panel built for moisture transport and temperature regulation. This is by design, so you get full protection where you face the wind and breathability where your body generates the most heat, keeping you from overheating.

Riders who push hard or climb often generate a lot of body heat, and a fully sealed jacket can trap it. The Hybrid Bike Jacket solves this with a rear stretch panel in recycled polyester and spandex engineered for moisture transport and temperature regulation. It balances the fully wind-blocked front so heat and sweat escape through the back rather than building up. Stretch panels on the backs of the arms and across the rear also aid mobility, so the jacket moves with you through sustained efforts rather than restricting them.

Yes. The current Hybrid Bike Jacket is a redesigned, current-season release, printed this year in a bold chromatic sapphire colorway. It shares the same core hybrid construction as the long-running Hybrid Jacket, meaning a windproof front and a moisture-managing stretch back, but it is a separate seasonal release rather than the same item. If you're comparing the two, know that the functional concept is identical; the difference is the updated design and print. Choose based on which colorway and release you prefer.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is built for wind, not downpours. Its front uses a plant-based DWR finish that repels light moisture, but it is not seam-taped or fully waterproof. If most of your riding involves prolonged, soaking rain, you'll be better served by a true waterproof option like the Lupra 2.0 Bike Jacket, which is seam-taped for genuine wet-weather protection. The Hybrid Bike Jacket earns its place when wind and temperature swings are your main concern and rain is only occasional or brief.

Riders who commute or ride at dawn and dusk need to be seen, and the Hybrid Bike Jacket is built with that in mind. It features high visibility throughout, with the bold chromatic sapphire printed stretch panels increasing conspicuity from multiple angles and reflective taping on the open rear pockets that catches light. Combined with its wind-blocking front and breathable back, this makes the Hybrid Bike Jacket a practical pick for unpredictable-weather commuting where both protection and visibility matter.

Many riders find tight elastic cuffs and hems restrictive, especially during hard efforts or when reaching forward on the bike. The Hybrid Bike Jacket deliberately eliminates elastic at the sleeve ends and hemline to reduce that restriction. Paired with stretch panels on the backs of the arms and across the rear, the jacket allows free movement through your pedal stroke and riding position. The result is an unrestrictive, semi-fitted feel that stays comfortable whether you're cruising or pushing the pace.

It depends on whether you want your arms covered. The Hybrid Bike Jacket gives you full windproof front coverage including the arms, with a breathable stretch back, ideal when wind chill reaches your limbs. If you mainly want core protection and prefer full, unrestricted arm movement, a vest like the Mistral Packable Bike Vest makes more sense, since it covers the core without sleeves. Riders in milder wind chill who layer over a long-sleeve jersey often prefer the vest; those facing colder, windier conditions tend to reach for the Hybrid Bike Jacket.

Yes. The Hybrid Bike Jacket includes a hidden bonded pocket inside the front that keeps a smartphone protected and secure while you ride. It also has open rear pockets with reflective taping that are functional for stashing essentials and add visibility from behind. This combination means you can carry your phone safely up front while keeping ride items accessible in back, making the Hybrid Bike Jacket practical for commutes and longer outings where you need to bring a few things along.
