product care
Remove your tights and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

Love the way it fits

"Love the way it fits and feels. Haven't had the chance to wear it on a ride - but based on how it fits and feels, I kind of wish I'd ordered two."

— Diane S. (5/5)

Padding is a problem

"I returned these tights because the padding in the rear felt bulky and cumbersome. One review described them as a “loaded diaper,” and I’m afraid I’d have to agree. The tights fit great other than the padding, so I was disappointed. I was surprised that the padding is so off since the padding on the biking shorts is great."

— Donna D. (2/5)

Odd Fitting Chamois

"The fabric and overall fit were nice, but the chamois was very odd fitting. Stuck out the back from my body quite a bit and felt like a loaded diaper. Didn't realize that it wasn't a "Terry" made tight. Returning and ordering a Terry."

— CJP (2/5)

Didn't Like the Chamois

"The chamois was in a very bizarre spot, I returned them."

— Rebecca M. (1/5)

I wanted a tight I

"I wanted a tight I could comfortably wear in 45-55 degree weather, and this was it!! Ordered 2 more!!!"

— Barb B. (5/5)

This may be California but

"This may be California but we've had some very cold mornings and I've really appreciated having Progress Thermo Tights to wear. My legs are not at all cold now that I'm wearing these wonderful tights. I'm the envy of our Monday Morning Coffee ride. My cycling friends not only envy how warm I am but they love the bright yellow section on the lower legs."

— Pamela P. (5/5)

Worked Perfect!

"Love these! They kept me very warm on a very cold and windy ride! They are a little bulky in the padding but doable. I will say if you are tall, they will probably be a little short. I am 4'11" and they were just the right length for me."

— Tracy G. (5/5)

Odd Fit

"Fit was really odd. Butt and waist very large. Pad Looked like a loaded diaper from the side. The legs were very short even for my legs which are on the short side."

— Alexandra M. (1/5)

Very comfortable and warm! Waistband

"Very comfortable and warm! Waistband is wide, which makes it even more comfortable. Length is good."

— Kerri R. (5/5)

Great Pants, Short in the Legs

"Great riding pants. Fit true to size but short in the legs."

— Lisa P. (5/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Progress Thermo Bike Tight is built for cold-weather riders who need real warmth once temperatures drop below shorts territory. Its brushed fleece interior and high-compression four-way stretch fabric let it ride comfortably into the high 30s Fahrenheit. That makes it a good fit for cooler-weather rides. If most of your riding happens in cooler fall and early-winter conditions, the Progress Thermo Bike Tight gives you insulation and next-to-skin comfort in one layer.

The Progress Thermo Bike Tight is specifically built for cold conditions, with a brushed fleece lining designed to hold warmth into the high 30s Fahrenheit. That construction works against you in warm or mild weather, where it would run too hot. If you want full leg coverage in warm conditions for sun protection, the lightweight UPF-rated Soleil Bike Tight is the better match. For spring and fall riding in the 40 to 60 degree range, the Coolweather Bike Tight offers chamois comfort without the heavier thermal insulation.

Yes — the Progress Thermo Bike Tight includes an ACTIVE Comfort chamois, so you don't need to layer it over a separate pair of shorts. The chamois is built with a GORE WINDSTOPPER liner, which adds wind protection and breathability right where you need it most on cold rides. This matters for riders who want an all-in-one cold-weather solution with saddle comfort designed in rather than wearing tights over existing shorts. It suits riders prioritizing comfort on regular cold-weather rides.

The ACTIVE Comfort chamois in the Progress Thermo Bike Tight includes a GORE WINDSTOPPER liner, which places wind protection directly at the chamois rather than relying only on the outer fabric. For cold-weather riders, this matters because wind chill cuts through at the saddle contact area on fast descents and headwinds. The liner is also built for breathability, so it resists wind without trapping moisture. Riders who find their core stays warm but their seated contact area gets cold tend to appreciate this detail.

The Progress Thermo Bike Tight focuses on wind resistance and warmth rather than a stated waterproof rating. Its GORE WINDSTOPPER chamois liner and brushed fleece lining are built to block wind and hold heat, not to keep you dry in sustained rain. If your cold-weather riding regularly means wet roads or steady rain, a dedicated waterproof garment like the Lupra GORE-TEX Bike Pant is the better choice. For dry, cold, and windy conditions, the Progress Thermo Bike Tight is well suited.

The Progress Thermo Bike Tight does not include any pockets, so there's no on-bike storage built into the tight itself. For many cold-weather riders this is fine, since storage lives in a jersey or jacket layer. But if you want to carry essentials in your tights on cool-weather rides, the Coolweather Tour Bike Tight includes a cargo pocket and a touring chamois suited to longer time in the saddle. Consider how you carry gear before choosing the Progress Thermo Bike Tight.

The Progress Thermo Bike Tight is a high-compression tight made from 85 percent polyamide and 15 percent elastane four-way stretch fabric, giving it a snug, supportive fit. That compression helps the brushed interior stay close to the skin so it can hold warmth effectively in cold conditions. Riders who prefer a performance-oriented, supportive feel tend to gravitate toward this fit. If you prefer a more relaxed, casual feel over leg support, a looser-cut option from Terry's range would suit you better.

The Progress Thermo Bike Tight rides comfortably into the high 30s Fahrenheit, which covers most cold-weather riding. But if your routine includes sub-freezing temperatures, you'll outgrow its warmth ceiling. Riders facing genuinely frigid, sub-zero conditions should step up to the Winter Bike Tight, which is built for genuinely cold conditions. The Progress Thermo Bike Tight earns its place as a cold-capable brushed-interior tight with a wind-resistant chamois, but it's not built to replace a dedicated sub-freezing garment.

The Progress Thermo Bike Tight has a 30 inch inseam, placing it on the longer end of Terry's tight range, with a folded front waistband for a comfortable fit at the waist. The longer length ensures full coverage down to the ankle for warmth in cold conditions. Taller riders often appreciate this length, while shorter riders may find it generous. If inseam length is a concern, consider trying the tight on to confirm the ankle coverage sits where you want it before committing.
