Description
We had some big goals for our Soleil cycling glove program: deliver the best fit against the handlebars without compromising on padding comfort; provide the highest level of sun protection using the lightest weight fabric possible. Our Soleil Gloves introduce a unique 3D patterned palm that helps to eliminate excess bunching, while following the natural curves of the hand. This design concept is an effective, articulated approach to fit and forms more ergonomically against the handlebars. In addition, the palms are made with Ax Suede, perforated for breathability. It wraps to the back of the hand (no side seam) for comfort on the handlebar hoods and has strategically-placed padding for vibration dampening. Backs of the hands are made of our UPF 50+ Soleil sun protective fabric, light enough for 90+ degree days. Available in both short and full finger styles for complete sun protection.

Questions & Answers

The Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves are built specifically for hot-weather riding where you still want full sun coverage. The backs of the hands use Terry's UPF 50+ Soleil fabric, an 88% micropoly and 12% spandex blend that is lightweight, moisture-wicking, and light enough for 90-plus degree days. That matters because full-finger coverage normally means heat buildup, but these gloves prioritize the lightest possible fabric so you get sun protection across the whole hand without overheating on long summer rides.

The Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves suit riders doing warm-weather miles who want sun protection across the entire hand and fingers, not just the back. They are a strong fit for anyone concerned about UV exposure on long summer rides, since the UPF 50+ Soleil fabric blocks sun while staying light enough for hot days. They also work well for riders who want padding that dampens road vibration and a breathable, perforated suede palm. Riders focused on cold or wet-weather protection should look at insulated or windproof options instead.

No. The Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves use 3mm memory foam padding that is strategically placed for vibration dampening while still allowing proper blood flow. This matters because poorly positioned padding can press on nerves and cause hand numbness on longer rides. Terry positions the foam to absorb road vibration where your palm contacts the handlebars without restricting circulation, so you get comfort and protection without the tingling or numbness that some gloves can cause during extended time in the saddle.

The Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves feature a unique 3D patterned palm that follows the natural curves of your hand, helping eliminate the excess bunching that causes hot spots and discomfort. The palm is made with Ax Suede, perforated for breathability, and wraps to the back of the hand with no side seam for comfort on the handlebar hoods. This articulated, ergonomic fit means the glove forms against the bars rather than fighting your grip, which matters most on longer rides where bunched fabric becomes a nuisance.

The Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves use 3mm memory foam tuned for vibration dampening without restricting blood flow, which keeps them light and breathable for hot-weather sun protection. If your primary need is deeper, denser cushioning to absorb heavy road buzz, you may prefer the Strada Massa Supergel Bike Gloves, which use Technogel and rebound foam for more substantial palm cushioning. The tradeoff is that those gloves are not built around UPF sun protection, so your choice comes down to whether sun coverage or maximum cushioning matters more.

The Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves are designed for warm, sunny conditions, using a lightweight UPF 50+ fabric meant for hot days rather than insulation or weather sealing. If you ride in cold wind, you'll want a windproof glove that blocks wind chill, and for sustained rain or cold-wet combinations the Gore C5 GTX Infinium Bike Glove is built to keep hands dry and warm. Choose the Soleil Full Finger version when sun protection is the goal, and switch to a weather-specific glove when temperature and weather become the priority.

Yes. The Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves pair a perforated Ax Suede palm with UPF 50+ Soleil fabric on the backs of the hands, an 88% micropoly and 12% spandex blend that is moisture-wicking and light enough for 90-plus degree days. The perforations let heat and sweat escape, while the moisture-wicking back helps your hands stay drier. This combination matters on long summer rides where full-finger coverage could otherwise trap heat, letting you keep full sun protection without sacrificing airflow.

The Soleil Full Finger Bike Gloves deliver UPF 50+ coverage across your hands and fingers, which addresses one of the most exposed areas on the bike. If your arms also need UV protection, pair the gloves with a long-sleeve sun garment such as the Sunblocker Bike Jersey or the Soleil Long Sleeve Bike Top, both of which extend coverage up the arm. The gloves handle the hands; the jersey handles the arms. Together they give full upper-body sun coverage for long rides in intense summer light.
