Chamois
Flex Air Lite Chamois:

fit notes
Note that this is a high compression fit and we suggest sizing up if you prefer lighter compression.
product care
Remove your shorts and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

Almost perfect

"I just purchased my second pair of these shorts. I love the compression, and the high waist. The leg length is perfect. I wish these had a little thicker pad for my longer rides."

— Alyssa S. (5/5)

disappointed

"I am very disappointed that these shorts no longer come in the 9 " length. I ordered the 7" shorts but only because I really liked the light weight material"

— Laurie S. (3/5)

Good chamois and leg length

"Been trying to replace my bike shorts for a few years now and finally settled on these after doing a 150 mile day in them. No saddle sores, not too bulky, just right. However a bit high waisted for me so they tend to roll down over my belly. Probably will stop doing g that if I lose 3-4 lbs. After that long ride I ordered 5 more pair and finally tossing my 10 year old Louis G shorts with holes in them!"

— Carla S. (4/5)

This is my favorite summer

"This is my favorite summer short. I’m 5’4” and the 7” length works best for me. I don’t like heavy material in the summer and the fabric feels light and comfortable in the heat. It also has a high waist, so no muffin top!"

— Joanne B. (5/5)

Wonderful shorts!

"These are great. I wore them the first time for a 20-mile ride, and had no chafing whatsoever. Nice compression and an excellent chamois pad. Highly recommended!"

— Jacqueline H. (5/5)

Chill 7

"The shorts are comfortable, have great compression but not too much. The chamois is comfortable. The only complaint I have is that they are a bit slippery I find myself sliding on the bike seat."

— Karen K. (4/5)

Slimming and feel great

"No more sausage leg with these shorts. Love them!"

— Catherine G. (5/5)

After multiple attempts I finally found a decent cycling short!

"Had a tough time finding mid-length shorts that had just the right amount of compression and these are it! I sized up to a 2X after reading the reviews, I am normally a XL 5"4' and 195lbs (btw other Terry shorts are too big in 2x) . I'm training for a 100 mile ride, and need these lighter weight shorts to get me through the hot months. They breathe well and I think the flex-air chamois is decent. I would probably like heavier padding for longer rides most likely but will keep wearing these and see how it goes."

— Melissa (5/5)

Defective and were returned immediately

"Defective and were returned immediately upon opening the package I could see the back of these shorts had some very odd defect. Very disappointed"

— Jacki S. (1/5)

Chill 7 Short

"My favorite Terry short! 7 inches is the perfect length for my 5'4 height. The padding is perfect for long rides and has just the right amount of compression!"

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Chill 7 Bike Short is built specifically for warm-weather riding. Terry positions it as a summer performance short, pairing high-compression Italian fabric with the Flex Air Lite chamois, which uses perforated, reduced-density foam for the highest level of breathability and ventilation. If most of your riding happens in heat and humidity, the Chill 7 keeps you cool while still supporting your muscles. Riders who run hot on the bike tend to appreciate how the laser-cut hemline lays flat and the chamois breathes rather than trapping heat.

The Chill 7 Bike Short is designed to stay put without a traditional elastic leg band. Instead of a gripper band, it integrates two inches of silicone directly against the thigh in a seamless construction, which Terry describes as eliminating the bulge, pinch, and 'sausage effect' that leg bands can cause. For riders who dislike the feeling of a tight gripper digging into the thigh, this leg-band-free design delivers a smooth, secure fit that holds position through long stretches of pedaling.

The Chill 7 Bike Short suits women riding shorter to moderate distances in warm weather who want muscle support without a heavy chamois. Its high-compression Italian nylon-spandex-silicone fabric supports the legs, while the thinner, breathable Flex Air Lite chamois keeps things cool. Riders who find traditional leg bands uncomfortable are a natural fit, since the Chill 7 uses silicone integrated against the thigh instead. It's a strong choice for summer road rides where breathability and a smooth, non-pinching fit matter most.

The Chill 7 Bike Short uses Terry's thinner Flex Air Lite chamois, a seamless pad with slightly reduced foam density, perforated for maximum ventilation and built with 4-way stretch Elastic Interface Technology. It's tuned for breathability on shorter to moderate warm-weather rides rather than maximum long-distance cushioning. Note that Flex Air Lite is its own chamois, distinct from Terry's Slite, Minimalist, Reticulated, or Urban minimal-bulk pads, so if you're comparing padding levels, check this specific chamois rather than assuming it matches those.

The Chill 7 Bike Short earns its place on shorter to moderate warm-weather rides, where its thinner Flex Air Lite chamois prioritizes breathability over deep cushioning. If you're riding centuries or long touring days and want maximum chamois support beneath you, the Long Haul Bike Short is the better match, built with a more cushioned pad for sustained all-day comfort. Choose the Chill 7 when heat management and muscle compression matter more than the thickest possible padding; move up when distance becomes the dominant need.

The Chill 7 Bike Short centers on summer breathability and high compression, using the lighter Flex Air Lite chamois for cooling on shorter to moderate rides. Endurance-focused options like the Long Haul Bike Short trade some ventilation for a thicker, more cushioned pad that holds up over all-day and multi-day riding. If your rides are warm and moderate in length, the Chill 7's breathable construction serves you well. If your defining need is maximum saddle cushioning across very long days, a dedicated endurance short will serve you better.

The Chill 7 Bike Short delivers both. Despite its lightweight, summer-oriented build, it's made from Italian 73% nylon, 20% spandex, and 7% silicone high-compression fabric that provides strong muscle support. That combination lets you stay cool in warm weather without giving up the leg support that helps reduce fatigue on longer efforts. Riders who want high compression but don't want a heavier, warmer chamois find the Chill 7 fills that specific gap well.

The Chill 7 Bike Short has a 7-inch mid-thigh inseam, which sits on the shorter end of Terry's performance range. If you prefer more leg coverage, whether for sun protection, cooler conditions, or personal comfort with how much thigh is exposed, the Wayfarer Bike Short offers more coverage. The Chill 7 works best for riders comfortable with a mid-thigh length who want a breathable, leg-band-free summer fit. Coverage preference is a genuine decision point, so choose the length that lets you ride confidently.

The Chill 7 Bike Short is purpose-built for summer, with its most breathable Flex Air Lite chamois and a short 7-inch mid-thigh inseam. In cooler conditions, where more leg coverage and warmth help, it's less ideal. Riders wanting extra coverage might look to the Wayfarer Bike Short, and those building a warm-weather rotation will get the most from the Chill 7 during the hotter months. Matching the short to the season keeps you comfortable, so save the Chill 7 for the days when breathability is the priority.
