product care
Remove your tights and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

Perfect in every way. Petite

"Perfect in every way. Petite that finally fit a petite woman with a post-menopausal waist, insulating while being surprisingly breathable. Will definitely buy multiple pairs in the near future."

— Marcia C. (5/5)

Great fit, comfy for our

"Great fit, comfy for our rides. Love that they come in varied lengths. This is my second pair."

— Barbara K. (5/5)

Winter tight

"I love this winter riding pant. I have just bought my second pair and a pair for my daughter. They are well fitting and comfortable and with the range of sizes available you can easily find a good fit."

— Stacy S. (5/5)

Waist Too Tight

"I’m not sure what I’m going to do with these tights. The elastic is too strong, making the tights are too tight in the waist. I’m 5’2 & 115 lbs with an athletic build. I ordered a petite medium. If they were a larger size, they would be too big. I suspect they will be uncomfortable for riding."

— Elizabeth M. (4/5)

Perfect length for my 5’5”

"Perfect length for my 5’5” frame. And great for rides in 40° weather."

— Sharon P. (5/5)

Petite cold weather bicycle tights

"Fits nicely for Petite and quality is good. Thanks for offering. Petite sizes !"

— Liz M. (5/5)

Using more than I thought.

"I used to just wear running pants over my bike shorts when it was cool outside. I decided to give these pants a try last year and I'm so glad I did! I wear them quite frequently, enough that I bought another pair this season. They are very comfortable, not too hot, good in the rain, and they come in petit❣?"

— Cheri L. (5/5)

Has changed for the worse

"This new version is sized too small, is too thin and the material feels like plastic wrap. My old pair was warm and soft"

— Karen P. (1/5)

Sizing is off.

"I was so excited that a winter tight came in a short size! But'they look great but had to return because crazy small. I am usually between a medium and a large and the large was more like a small. Trying to decide if I should try a xl or just try again next year when the sizing gets fixed with the next batch."

— Patricia (3/5)

Just right tight

"The perfect tight or those 50'days. Fit is true to size"

— Catherine G. (5/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length is built for the 40 to 60 degree range, making it a fall and spring shoulder-season garment. It uses a quick-drying tri-blend wicking fabric with minimal bulk. If most of your riding happens in genuinely cold or sub-freezing conditions, you'll likely want a warmer option than this tight. For cool but not cold mornings and evenings, it hits exactly the right balance.

No layering is needed. The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length is an all-in-one padded tight with an integrated Flex Chamois, so you wear it directly against the skin without shorts underneath. The Flex Chamois uses seamless four-way stretch construction and multi-level foam padding, with soft wing shaping that reduces bulk at the inner thigh to minimize chafing. This makes it ideal for riders who want a single, simple garment for cool-weather riding rather than managing a separate chamois short and thermal outer layer.

The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length is designed for shorter-legged riders, with a 27-inch inseam that prevents the bunching and excess fabric that standard-length tights can create on a shorter frame. Terry builds this tight in petite, regular, and tall lengths so riders can match the inseam to their stature rather than settling for one size. The eight-panel construction gives a precise, clean fit. If you've found cycling tights consistently run long on you, this is the length built with you in mind.

If you're of average or taller stature, the petite length likely isn't the right fit. The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length has a 27-inch inseam intended for shorter-legged riders, and on a longer leg it will sit short and feel undersized. Terry offers the same tight in the standard Coolweather Bike Tight and in a Coolweather Bike Tight Tall length for longer inseams. Choosing the length that matches your stature gives you the precision fit the eight-panel construction is designed to deliver.

The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length is a cool-weather tight rated for 40 to 60 degrees, not a cold-weather garment. Its tri-blend wicking fabric is built to move moisture and cut bulk, not to insulate, so below 40 degrees you'll feel underdressed. Riders who need genuine cold-weather warmth should look at the Thermal Bike Tight or the Winter Bike Tight, both of which have brushed or winter-weight interiors and an integrated chamois. For true shoulder-season riding, though, this Coolweather tight is purpose-built.

The Flex Chamois in the Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length handles typical cool-weather rides comfortably, with seamless four-way stretch Elastic Interface construction, multi-level foam padding, and a channeled microfiber surface for ventilation. It's a women's-specific chamois designed around comfort. That said, it isn't a touring-grade pad. If you consistently log longer distances and want more sustained support in the saddle, the Coolweather Tour Bike Tight uses a touring chamois built for extended time riding, making it the more natural fit for endurance-minded cool-weather riders.

The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length offers moderate compression, which means it feels supportive and holds its shape without the tight, muscle-focused squeeze of a high-compression performance tight. Combined with its eight-panel precision fit, this gives a clean, comfortable feel suited to everyday cool-weather riding. If you specifically want firmer compression for performance or recovery goals, a high-compression tight would be a better match. For riders who prioritize all-day comfort over race-level support, this moderate level is well-judged.

It depends on temperature. The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length earns its place when conditions sit in the 40 to 60 degree range, where bare legs feel too cold but full winter gear is overkill. If temperatures are mild enough that you're comfortable in shorts, a performance short like the Chill Bike Short 2.0 or the Breakaway Bike Short is the better call. Many riders keep both, reaching for this cool-weather tight in spring and fall and switching to shorts once the weather warms up.

If you already own a chamois short you're happy with, you may prefer a padless thermal layer you can pull over it rather than a second chamois. The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length is an all-in-one padded tight, so its integrated Flex Chamois would double up with your shorts. In that case, the Padless Winter Bike Tight is the better choice, giving you cool-weather leg coverage over your existing shorts. Choose the Coolweather Petite tight when you want a single, self-contained padded garment instead.

The Coolweather Bike Tight Petite Length is a full-length garment, so if you prefer coverage that stops at the knee, a knicker is the better fit. Terry's Bike Knicker offers that cropped length while keeping the cool-weather, chamois-included approach. Riders often choose knee-length coverage for in-between days when full-length tights feel like too much. If you want your legs fully covered down to the ankle for warmth or sun, the Coolweather Petite tight remains the right pick.
