Review highlights

Reviews

Runs small especially thru hips

"Too fitted. I usually easily wear a large and this was too small. I should have read other reviews. Sadly returning."

— KD (4/5)

Too big

"It was too big. I returned it"

— Judy S. (5/5)

Great windbreaker jacket

"I bought this jacket to replace a very old windbreaker . I am 5'5" and 115 - 120 pounds. I bought a size small. It fits well, but snug. It is perfect for riding on windy days. I have worn it twice in temps of low 50's and winds 15 - 25 mph. It was great for those conditions. I have also used it for running. It is a little snug for that, but still worked well. I love the color and trim fit."

— PATRICIA K. (5/5)

Too Small

"This jacket runs small, especially in the hips. If you are larger on top and have smaller hips, this jacket will fit you perfectly. I had to return."

— Natalie O. (2/5)

I always wanted a purpose made cycling jacket,

"and I am glad I found this one :) It keeps me comfortable and visible for my commute home where early spring nights typically range 42-50F (5. 5- 10C) I usually wear XL tops, ~~38D bust. XXL fits me excellently. I would have appreciated left pockets just to feel balanced on both sides :) It wasn't a dealbreaker for me since there are indeed back pockets and I use a hip pack anyway."

— Joanna B. (5/5)

Improvement on previous version

"It's stylish, windproof, and breathable. I love the rear print design and back pockets. Like the previous version, this jacket packs small and is a good value."

— Annie F. (5/5)

Thermal bike jacket

"I really like the jacket although I haven’t worn it to bike. It’s the perfect weight for a cool day of biking. I ordered a large instead of a medium which worked out well."

— Dianne W. (5/5)

Kept me warm at temps between 40-45F

"The jacket kept me warm enough on rides when temperatures were between 40-45F. I wore a light shirt underneath. The jacket runs small especially if you have larger breasts. My usual medium size was too tight in the chest so I ordered a large which worked fine although the sleeves are too long."

— Adrienne D. (4/5)

It fits well -- still

"It fits well -- still to cold to ride in Vermont so haven't actually taken it for a spin yet!!!"

— Barbara B. (5/5)

Runs small

"I love this jacket, but had to return it. It was tight across the chest. Made well and beautiful color."

— Karen K. (5/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is built for cool, breezy, transitional conditions where you need a windbreak that still breathes. Its solid windproof front panel blocks chill while a stretch, moisture-transporting rear panel vents heat during effort. This hybrid construction regulates temperature rather than insulating, so it suits riders moving between warm and cool stretches of a ride. If most of your riding happens in gusty shoulder-season weather, the Hybrid Bike Jacket earns its place as a versatile do-it-all layer.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket has a plant-based DWR finish with no PFAS that sheds light moisture and brief showers, but it is water-resistant rather than waterproof and can wet out in sustained rain. If your rides regularly involve prolonged downpours, a true waterproof jacket like the Lupra 2.0 Bike Jacket or the GORE-TEX Swiftride Bike Jacket will serve you far better. Think of the Hybrid Bike Jacket's water resistance as a bonus for unexpected drizzle, not protection you'd plan a wet ride around.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is a 230 gsm windproof jacket designed to regulate temperature rather than to insulate. It excels at blocking wind chill in cool and transitional conditions, but it is not a thermal jacket and won't provide warmth in genuinely cold or sub-freezing weather. Riders whose main need is insulation should look at the Velocity Thermal Bike Jacket for cold days or the Core Bike SubZ Bike Jacket for sub-freezing conditions. The Hybrid Bike Jacket shines when wind, not deep cold, is the challenge.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket pairs a solid windproof front panel that blocks chill with a breathable stretch rear panel made of 78% recycled polyester and 22% spandex for moisture transport. This hybrid design is the whole point: your front stays protected from oncoming wind while your back vents the heat and sweat you generate during effort. Stretch panels on the backs of the arms and rear add on-bike mobility. The result is wind protection without the overheating that fully sealed jackets cause during active riding.

Both versions of the Hybrid Bike Jacket share the same hybrid windproof-front construction and are current, in-stock options; they differ in the back panel. One uses a 78% recycled polyester and 22% spandex stretch panel built for moisture transport and on-bike mobility, while the other uses a 100% polyester structured, non-stretch back panel. Choose the stretch version if you want maximum rear mobility and moisture management during active efforts, or the structured version if you prefer a firmer, more durable back panel. Either is a sound pick otherwise.

Riders who run warm and feel suffocated in fully sealed jackets tend to do well with the Hybrid Bike Jacket. Its stretch rear panel of 78% recycled polyester and 22% spandex actively transports moisture and vents heat, while the windproof front still blocks the chill that makes you reach for a jacket in the first place. This front-block, rear-breathe balance is designed for higher-output efforts where a solid shell would trap too much heat. If sweating out inside your outerwear is your usual complaint, the Hybrid Bike Jacket addresses it directly.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is a semi-fitted midweight jacket with structured wind protection and a breathable stretch back, built to be worn as your main outer layer in cool, breezy conditions. It is not designed to compress into a jersey pocket. If your priority is an ultralight shell you can stuff away and pull out only when the wind picks up, the Mistral Packable Bike Jacket is the better match. Choose the Hybrid Bike Jacket when you want a more substantial, do-it-all layer rather than an on-demand pocket shell.

Visibility is built into the Hybrid Bike Jacket throughout. It features a high-visibility YKK zipper with reflective trim, bonded reflective taping at the lower left rear pocket, and printed stretch panels that increase how visible you are from multiple directions. For riders commuting in dim conditions or heading out at dawn or dusk, this all-around reflectivity matters because drivers and other riders can pick you up from the front, sides, and rear. The Hybrid Bike Jacket pairs its wind protection with genuine low-light presence.

The Hybrid Bike Jacket is designed with freedom of movement in mind for women riders. Terry deliberately eliminated elastic at the sleeve ends and hemline to reduce restriction, and added stretch panels on the backs of the arms and rear to aid on-bike mobility. The semi-fitted cut keeps the jacket close enough to block wind without binding when you reach for the bars or shift position. If restrictive cuffs and gripping hems have frustrated you before, the Hybrid Bike Jacket is built to move with you instead.
