Reviews

The search is over. Finally!

"I have been searching for the perfect saddle to attempt The Tour Divide on this year. I've been riding for 30+ years and I've used everything out there. Happy with my Specialized S-works EVO saddle ($475) but I knew even that was not going to provide the comfort needed to complete 2750 miles of bikepacking. Rode 75 miles on the Liberator the day it showed up and I'm stunned by the comfort level it provides both on the bar tops and the aero-bars. Pressure on the sit bones is completely eliminated while still providing a firm enough platform for many miles. Tour Divide starts in less than six weeks and this saddle arrived just in time!"

Amazing seat

"Amazing fit and finish. The comfort of the seat is outstanding. Compared to my original seat this is far and above superior. All the rides I take are now easy and feel great. I would recommend this seat to anyone!"

Beautiful, but too hard for me.

"Beautiful saddle. Well made and I liked the reflective patches. A little too hard for my tender butt, but a really nice saddle. Returned it and got a Cite Y Gel (as suggested by customer service) and am very happy with it."

Liberator Y Elite

"I tried it for about 2 weeks and it hasn't performed as I hoped.I am going to put it aside for a month and try it again."

Great saddle, Liberator is the best!

"This is my second Liberator saddle and I'm thrilled you keep making it! It's comfortable right off the bat and for some female cyclists out there, if you don't find the women's style comfortable, try the men's! Love your product, being comfortable on the bike is so key."

Love the seat for my seat

"no soreness at all with this seat so far. Not perfect but I think a couple of adjustments will get me pretty close."

Took around 500 miles to break in

"My bike started as a hardtail MTB in the mid 1990s, since hybridized into a commuter-tourer with skinnier tires not inflated to full pressure. So there's a little suspension effect from that, and this seat takes care of the rest. Once you clear 50 miles per day, it really starts to shine, assuming I am wearing bike shorts. This was a replacement for a Liberator Race whose profile did not mesh well with mine. That was a replacement for a previous-generation Lib Race that had done so many miles the padding had collapsed from fatigue and sheer use. This one fits well, works on long rides, and appears to be stable for the long haul. The Elite is profiled such that your normal seating position is right in the sweet spot of the padding, which yields enough to soak up impacts and buzz but isn't so squishy that it hurts after 20 miles. You can also sit up a bit on really long rides to not be sitting on the exact same spot for six hours, and you can lean forward a tad for climbing or sprinting or acceleration like on a road bike. That ability os designed into the profile of this saddle. I sense a lot of research was put into this model, and I'm sticking with it. Just give it a few hundred miles to break in at first. As always, all my statements are subjective, and every cyclist's needs (tiding style, gender, tailbone spread and profile) are different, so all I can say in this review is that it worked for me. Thankfully Terry stands behind their products and wants to find the saddle that fits right. If yours doesn't work out for you, call them, they are awesome! You will find the right match."

Perfect saddle

"I keep wanting to try different Terry saddles, but this one is by far the best I've used, so afraid to risk it! LONG rides? Short bursts around town? Gravel? City? Just about anything in this saddle just works! Great feel, great fit and just enough padding for long hauls. I have other saddles I like, but this one is the best for long distance and over all feel. About to order a 3rd!! I'm tired of swapping out one that i have between 2 bikes :)"

Solid and Comfy Bike Seat, But...

"Starting to fray around the decorative holes after about 4 months of mild use (6 - 10 miles per day) riding in jeans. Love the comfort but the standard liberator is actually probably more durable for my style of riding and not noticeably different comfort wise for me."

Coen (3/5)

Liberator Elite

"Seat construction is first rate. First impressions are that seat comfort is excellent. On a 1 hour initial ride, I was pleased with the supportive firmness of the seat and it's overall comfort. I expect that it will improve even more with time."
