product care
Remove your tights and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

I love these tights! They

"I love these tights! They are cozy warm and fit well over biking shorts. It would be great if Terry added a pocket or two, and some reflective markings."

Padless Winter Bike Tight

"Great quality tights! These are great for those cold weather runs or just lounging at home. Have 4 pair!"

— Glenn J. (5/5)

Tight warm tights. Hard to get on, but don't want to take them off

"I bought a pair of these last year and absolutely loved them, so I bought a second pair this year. The new pair is an inch or so smaller in width, I really hope that they will stretch to fit me better. In other brands I am size 6 or small, I buy M from Terry as I don't like being compressed, and these tights are a very snug fit. I wear them for cycling, xc skiing, and living inside my rather cold house in winter."

— Naomi J. (4/5)

Very warm!

"These are WARM! also can be used under hiking pants! love the wide waistband. Looked pretty small out of the package but they fit really well. they are a little long for petite length legs. Do wish Terry made more petite products."

— Paul B. (5/5)

Padless tights

"These tights are high waisted, very soft and comfortable, they do not have wind sheer material in the front panel. I have been riding in high 40 to mid 50 degrees and I was warm. Really like the feel of them."

— Terrie H. (5/5)

Warm and soft.

"Very warm, soft and comfortable. I wore these in 35 degree weather with long underwear and I was not cold. I’m 5’3” and weigh 110 and bought size small."

— Cheryl C. (5/5)

— Lara C. (5/5)

Perfect for cool weather

"These tights are warm and perfect for cooler days. The fabric is lighter than fleece, has a good amount of stretch, and is very soft inside. The pockets are large and well placed. I liked these so much I bought a second pair in another color!"

— Jill W. (5/5)

Could be better

"The good: The tights are toasty warm. No pad, so you can pull them over your shorts and wear them day after day without washing them every time (I have no idea why so many people use tights with pads. How many pairs of tights do you have? And don't you sometimes want to take off the tights during a long ride when the sun comes out and it warms up? ). No pad, so you can wear them with regular underwear for errands or just around the house. High waist so the tights stay on when you ride. The bad: They run small. And this, I think, is because the fabric isn't really stretchy enough. This also means the fabric bunches up behind your knees when you ride. Also, because the fabric isn't really stretchy enough, the ankles are loose, which you can see in the picture. For warm tights, I'd like a tighter ankle to keep me warm. No side pocket: I realize that there couldn't be a patch pocket made of the same fabric,. but why not put on a patch pocket of a lighter fabric? Nowadays I expect a phone pocket on the side thigh. Too short: Again, these are supposed to be warm tights, so why such a short inseam? These tights should go down to the shoes. Oh well, I guess it means I can tuck my booties under the tights. Expensive: For such a simple, featureless item, I'd expect a lower price. Tariffs, I suppose. Overall, I'm glad I have them, but they could be better"

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Padless Winter Bike Tight has no chamois. Terry intentionally removed the pad from its acclaimed Winter Bike Tight to create this unpadded version, so you can layer it over your own favorite bike shorts or wear it for non-cycling cold-weather activities. If you want a single, all-in-one padded cycling garment for cool conditions, the Coolweather Bike Tight includes a women's-specific chamois. The Padless Winter Bike Tight is built for riders who already have the chamois they love and simply want warmth and coverage on top.

The Padless Winter Bike Tight is designed for use well beyond cycling. Terry calls out snowshoeing, skiing, and general cold-weather layering by name alongside riding. Because it has no chamois, it reads as general cold-weather athletic wear rather than cycling-specific kit, so it works for errands and winter activities without looking like you're in a bike pad. This makes the Padless Winter Bike Tight a genuinely dual-purpose piece for riders who want one warm tight that moves between the bike and the rest of their winter.

The Padless Winter Bike Tight is built for serious cold. The front uses Polartec Hardface Wind Pro jersey/velour with DWR water repellency to shed moisture and block wind, while a Power Stretch Pro rear panel adds stretch and moisture management. It's fully windproof and highly water resistant, with four-panel minimal seaming for increased warmth. That makes it a genuine cold-weather piece and a capable base layer under other layers for deep winter rides. It is not a lightweight three-season tight for mild days.

The Padless Winter Bike Tight uses the same warm, windproof, highly water-resistant Polartec Hardface Wind Pro and Power Stretch Pro fabric combination as Terry's padded Winter Bike Tight, but without the chamois. That one change shifts its purpose: instead of being an all-in-one cycling garment, it's built to layer over your own bike shorts or to wear for cold-weather activities like skiing and snowshoeing. Choose the Padless Winter Bike Tight when you already have a chamois short you trust and want to add warmth.

The Padless Winter Bike Tight suits cold-weather riders who already have a favorite chamois short and just want warmth and coverage over it, as well as anyone who wants a fitted, high-rise, full-length tight for winter activities beyond cycling. With a 28.5 inch inseam, high-rise waistband, and flat-seam construction to help prevent chafing, it delivers close, complete cold-weather coverage. It works two ways: as a standalone unpadded tight for cold rides and snow activities, or as a warm layer over your own bike shorts.

The Padless Winter Bike Tight is a genuinely cold-weather-only piece. Its windproof, highly water-resistant Polartec construction is built to excel in harsh winter conditions, which makes it too warm for mild or moderate days. If you want unpadded, full-length lifestyle coverage for warmer riding, the Padless Hi-Rise Tight offers the same fitted, high-rise silhouette in a lighter fabric suited to warm and moderate temperatures. Save the Padless Winter Bike Tight for when the temperature actually calls for serious warmth.

The Padless Winter Bike Tight has a fitted tight silhouette with moderate compression, a 28.5 inch inseam, and a high-rise waistband with hidden elastic at the top. Flat-seam construction helps prevent chafing, and four-panel minimal seaming keeps warmth in. Because it's a fitted full-length tight rather than a relaxed pant, check the inseam and compression against your preferences before buying. Riders who want a looser, casual silhouette rather than a close fit may prefer the relaxed Gravel Bike Pant instead.

If you want an all-in-one padded cycling tight for cold weather, the Padless Winter Bike Tight isn't the one, since its chamois was intentionally removed. For cool-weather riding with a women's-specific chamois built in, the Coolweather Bike Tight is the better single-garment solution. If your riding leans toward warm weather and you also want sun protection with an integrated chamois, consider the Soleil Bike Tight. The Padless Winter Bike Tight earns its place when you already own the chamois short you love.

The Padless Winter Bike Tight is a fitted, unpadded tight with minimal seaming, so it reads as general cold-weather athletic wear rather than cycling-specific gear. Without a chamois there's no padded profile, which is why Terry built it for snowshoeing, skiing, and layering as well as riding. If you want to complete a casual, non-cycling look off the bike, Terry's Optibike Crewneck Sweatshirt pairs naturally with it for errands and time spent off the bike in cold weather.
