product care
Remove your knickers and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

Fits well!

"I am 5’7” and the large fits well. The slight padding unfortunately is too hot, best option for cooler weather."

— Linda G. (5/5)

Not the same

"I have collected several different products from Terry in the last 18 years. The new pair is replacing an old pair of spinnakers about 16 years old. I like the old pair much better because it has a thin higher waistband, the new pair has a thick elastic which rolls. The fabric of the new pair is the shiny spandex and is slippery. The old pair is a soft cotton like fabric which is preferred. I will keep the new pair because I am not up for hunting any more and these are for indoor home use, however I am disappointed and will probably seek other options before ordering Terry products again."

— PATRICIA N. (2/5)

Stylish

"Yes, these bike pants are actually stylish. For real. The padding is a little thin for my liking, but the fit is great and I love how they don't squeeze too hard around the calves."

— Careyanne D. (4/5)

Spinnaker

"This is my third pair!!!! All size small. Perfect fit. Need I say more?!?!?"

— Jasmin R. (5/5)

New saddle new bottoms

"They are very comfortable. I appreciate the fact that your sizes are true to fit. Next order I'll get my size instead of the larger size"

— Renee B. (5/5)

Okay but not great

"Looking for non compression and thus is that pockets are weirdly placed and fabric is too shiny for me. Don't like the split hem but goid chamois not oo thick"

— Danielle G. (3/5)

work well and comfortable

"Wore these on my first e- bike experience and they worked well. Thought the longer legs might get in the way but they were perfect. Padding is light but with the seat I had it was sufficient, and nice to have a bit extra padding for sure"

— Gwen G. (5/5)

Spinnakers

"I love this cycling bottom. This is a my third pair. Haven't worn the other two out, just want another pair as we do a lot of long distance cycling in our tandem, like RAGBRAI last year and the Mid-West Tandem Rally. We will be doing the MW Tandem rally this year. I also have a Terry bicycle seat, so the combination together works perfect for me. I'd buy them again in a snap!!!!"

— Suzidee H. (5/5)

Spinnaker

"I Like these but the seat is not quite the pad I expected. I have been in cycling classes for many years so this pad was fine for me. Others may want more, just fyi."

— Ellen G. (4/5)

Spinaker capri's- run small

"I am usually a solid small in Terry bottoms. This pairs is kind of snug. I should have traded them in for Mediums, but wore them anyway. Remember to size up!"

— Robin S. (4/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Spinnaker Bike Capri is lightly padded with Terry's Minimalist Chamois — the barest chamois available, built as a whisper-light, seamless fleece. It's designed for riders who find a fully padded chamois too bulky, or who are moving between activities. That minimal cushioning suits gym sessions or triathlon training where you transition from bike to run, but it isn't built for the sustained saddle pressure of long rides. If most of your riding is commuting, fitness, or on-and-off errands, that lightness is exactly the point.

The Spinnaker Bike Capri uses Terry's Minimalist Chamois, the barest cushioning in the lineup, which makes it better suited to shorter rides, the gym, and commuting than to endurance days in the saddle. If your rides are getting longer and you want substantially more chamois support in a knicker length, the Bike Knicker with Terry's Flex Air Tour chamois offers far more foam and touring-grade comfort. Choose the Spinnaker when versatility and a light feel matter more than long-haul padding.

The Spinnaker Bike Capri is best for riders who are frequently on and off the bike — commuters, gym-goers, and multi-sport athletes who want cycling-appropriate comfort without a bulky chamois. It's made from one of Terry's best-fitting, best-feeling fabrics, lightly padded with the Minimalist Chamois, and relaxed enough to cross over into casual wear. If you value a bottom that handles a short ride, a workout, and errands in the same day rather than a dedicated performance piece, the Spinnaker fits that life well.

Yes — the Spinnaker Bike Capri is designed as an in/outdoor, relaxed capri with a more modest length that crosses easily into casual wear. Terry built it to pair with tunics and dresses, so it works for commuting and running errands without reading as dedicated cycling kit. The relaxed capri length and minimal compression fabric give it an everyday feel rather than a race-fit look. For riders who want their cycling bottom to blend into the rest of the day, that off-bike versatility is the Spinnaker's defining strength.

The Spinnaker Bike Capri uses a 76% nylon, 24% spandex minimal compression fabric, so it fits more like a relaxed, comfortable capri than a supportive performance bottom. Riders who want a tight, muscle-supporting compression feel for hard efforts will want something more structured. The Spinnaker prioritizes an easy, versatile fit that stays comfortable whether you're pedaling, at the gym, or off the bike. If you prefer that relaxed drape over a snug race fit, the minimal compression is a feature rather than a compromise.

Yes — the Spinnaker Bike Capri includes a larger, drop-in pocket at the right hip that's sized to hold a smartphone. That makes it practical for commuting, gym sessions, and casual wear where you want essentials close without a jersey or bag. If storage is a priority and you want a similarly lightweight capri with more built-in structure and a dedicated leg pocket, the Stash Bike Capri is worth considering. For most on-and-off-the-bike use, the Spinnaker's hip pocket covers the basics.

Both the Spinnaker Bike Capri and the Stash Bike Capri offer a lightweight, versatile capri feel, but they serve slightly different needs. The Spinnaker centers on relaxed, on-and-off-the-bike versatility with Terry's Minimalist Chamois and a drop-in hip pocket. If you want a similarly light feel but more built-in structure and a dedicated leg pocket for carrying more, the Stash Bike Capri leans toward that added utility. Choose the Spinnaker for easy crossover styling and the Stash when storage and structure matter more.

If a fully padded chamois feels too bulky to you, the Spinnaker Bike Capri is built with exactly that concern in mind. Its Minimalist Chamois is a whisper-light, seamless fleece — the barest cushioning Terry offers — so you get saddle comfort for shorter and moderate rides without the thickness of a touring chamois. It's ideal for riders who feel self-conscious in heavily padded shorts or who move between the bike and other activities. Just know the trade-off: for longer rides, more chamois support becomes worthwhile.
