Seamless chamois with 4-way stretch Elastic Interface Technology provides freedom of movement on the saddle; multi-level foam padding is perforated for increased breathability; light, channeled microfiber fabric in Terry pink is antimicrobial and enhances moisture transfer; soft wing construction reduces bulk at inner thigh to avoid chafing. Made in Italy.

product care
Remove your shorts and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

Wearing these shorts feel so

"Wearing these shorts feel so good! They are the most comfortable bike shorts I’ve ever had. Confession: I don’t just wear them when I ride. I like them for other sports too. I love the zippered pockets and the sleek chamois. Very satisfied!"

— Tricia P. (5/5)

Legs didn't stay down - returned the item

"These did not work for me, and I returned the item. I had read other reviews that mentioned that the legs didn't stay down, but I was hoping these would work for me. At the end of my ride, these looked like volleyball shorty shorts (and I don't have long legs to go with them!). For context, I'm 5'-1" and 125 lbs."

— Karen S. (2/5)

Real nice fit. Length is

"Real nice fit. Length is perfect. Pockets a great plus. Lots of cush in the padding. Think I'm goin' love 'em!"

Mayfair 7 inch bike short

"Perfect fit and comfort"

— Michele F. (5/5)

creeping

"These shorts have a great fit and feel, comfortable great padded seat, but the leg portion creeps up as you ride."

— Bradley Y. (3/5)

Good fit but legs roll up

"As a short person and a fan of the Wayfair material, I was excited to see these 7” inseam shorts. I bought two pair in charcoal and garnet colors. While they fit me well, the legs roll up and I keep having to pull them down. I think I’ll keep them, but I’ll have to sew some silicone anti-slip material in the legs."

— Judi (4/5)

The best biking shorts

"I love these shorts! I love the high waist and the sporty length. Also, the phone pockets are awesome!"

— Martha T. (5/5)

Very happy with these bike

"Very happy with these bike shorts. I especially like the pockets. I like the fact that the fit is not too compressive. The customer service representative suggested that I buy up one size as they run small. I agree with her. Additionally, they went pretty well, which is important to me since I live in a hot climate."

— Gail A. (5/5)

Wayfair 7 inch

"Wonderful"

— Beth-Anne O. (5/5)

I like the shorts, but

"I like the shorts, but don’t love them. The fabric is definitely to my liking and the wide waistband fits well. The chamois seems to have a little more material than I need, but is manageable. My least favorite part is the no grip legs. Which now ride up while I ride turning the 7” inseam into more like a 5 1/2-6” inseam."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Wayfarer 7 inch Bike Short shares the same French performance fabric, high-rise waistband, side pockets, and Flex Air Chamois as the original Wayfarer Bike Short. The key difference is length: its 7 inch inseam runs four inches shorter than the 11 inch original. This makes the Wayfarer 7 inch a better match for shorter riders and those who prefer a higher tan line. If you want full-thigh coverage with the same features, the standard Wayfarer Bike Short is the one to choose.

The Wayfarer 7 inch Bike Short is built for shorter riders and women who prefer a higher tan line, as well as anyone riding in warm weather. Its 7 inch inseam sits four inches shorter than the original Wayfarer, giving a cooler, less-covered leg without changing the fabric or fit philosophy. With a wide high-rise waistband, hip pockets, and Terry's Flex Air Chamois, the Wayfarer 7 inch is designed to be the kind of short you can comfortably ride in all day across regular road rides.

If most of your riding happens in warm conditions, the Wayfarer 7 inch Bike Short is the warm-weather pick within the Wayfarer line. Its shorter 7 inch inseam exposes more leg to keep you cooler, while the 73% nylon, 27% spandex soft-finish fabric carries UPF 50+ sun protection for the skin it does cover. The perforated foam in the Flex Air Chamois adds breathability on the saddle. Together these make the Wayfarer 7 inch a comfortable choice for summer rides and hot-climate cycling.

Riders who want more thigh coverage tend to prefer the original Wayfarer Bike Short over the Wayfarer 7 inch Bike Short. Both use the same fabric, high-rise waistband, side pockets, and Flex Air Chamois, so the decision comes down to leg length: the standard Wayfarer runs 11 inches, four inches longer than the 7 inch. If you ride in cooler weather, want to minimize sun exposure on your legs, or simply prefer more coverage, the longer Wayfarer is the better fit.

The Wayfarer 7 inch Bike Short has two open, self-fabric side pockets at the hip, cut deep enough to secure a smartphone while you ride. This makes it a practical choice for riders who like to keep a phone, snack, or small essentials within reach without a jersey or extra bag. The pockets sit flush against the hip so they don't interfere with pedaling, which suits all-day comfort riding where you want your gear close at hand.

Riders who dislike waistbands that roll or dig in will appreciate the Wayfarer 7 inch Bike Short's wide, high-rise waistband, which stays in place and helps prevent muffin top throughout a ride. The elastic-free, zig-zag stitched comfort hem won't bind against the thigh, so there's no pinching as your legs move. This attention to fit reflects Terry's women-specific design approach, where staying comfortable over a full ride is built in rather than treated as an afterthought.

The Wayfarer 7 inch Bike Short uses Terry's Flex Air Chamois, a women's-specific seamless chamois with 4-way stretch, multi-level perforated foam for breathability, and soft wing construction that reduces bulk and chafing at the inner thigh. It's positioned for all-day comfort across regular rides rather than maximum endurance cushioning. If you're riding centuries or multi-day touring distances and want a more cushioned chamois, the Long Haul Bike Short offers the higher-grade support those longer efforts call for.

The Wayfarer 7 inch Bike Short is designed for all-day comfort on regular road rides, but it carries Terry's core Flex Air Chamois rather than a maximum-endurance pad. Riders doing centuries, back-to-back days, or loaded touring often want more cushioning and more leg coverage. If that describes your riding, the Long Haul Bike Short offers a more cushioned chamois built for endurance distances. For warm-weather day rides and shorter riders who want a cooler short, the Wayfarer 7 inch remains a strong fit.
