Description

There are very few options for women when it comes to true cold weather cycling gloves, so we engineered our own – meet the new Windshear Gloves. Made of a 3-layer, fleece-backed laminated fabric, they are completely windproof, highly water resistant and lined with brushed tricot for excellent warmth and protection into the low 40’s. We’ve designed them to Terry women-specific fit standards to maximize comfort and minimize bulk. We’ve also pre-curved the finger patterning for better dexterity, added Ax Suede silicone dot patches for better grip on handlebars, and integrated touchscreen finger patches that will let you keep your gloves on while using your smartphone.

Note: while the exterior fabric is waterproof, the gloves themselves are not seam sealed, so they are officially water resistant rather than waterproof.

Quite short for a L

"Glove sizing should include finger length. I’m 5’6” so thought a L would be long enough but it’s much too short."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Windshear Bike Gloves are made for riders tackling true cold-weather conditions who need their hands protected from wind chill. Built from a 3-layer, fleece-backed laminated fabric and lined with brushed tricot, the Windshear Bike Gloves provide warmth and protection down into the low 40s Fahrenheit. That lining keeps your fingers functional on brisk fall and winter rides without the bulk of heavy insulation, so you stay comfortable and in control of the bars when temperatures drop.

This is an important distinction for riders expecting to be out in rain. The exterior laminate fabric on the Windshear Bike Gloves is waterproof, but the gloves themselves are not seam sealed, so Terry classifies them as water resistant rather than fully waterproof. In practice, the Windshear Bike Gloves perform strongly in most wet conditions and are completely windproof. If you regularly ride in sustained, driving rain and need guaranteed sealing, you'll want a fully seam-sealed, GORE-TEX glove instead.

Yes. The Windshear Bike Gloves include touchscreen-compatible finger patches, so you can check your phone, map, or ride app without exposing your hands to the cold. This matters most in exactly the conditions these gloves are built for, when pulling a glove off in the wind means losing warmth you worked hard to keep. Combined with pre-curved finger patterning and Ax Suede silicone dot grip patches on the palm, the Windshear Bike Gloves stay functional for both riding and device use.

Riders who've struggled with bulky winter gloves worry about losing feel on the bars. The Windshear Bike Gloves are designed to Terry's women-specific fit standards specifically to maximize comfort and minimize bulk, and the fingers are pre-curved to match the natural shape of your hand on the hoods or drops. Ax Suede silicone dot patches on the palm add grip without heavy padding. The result is a warm, windproof glove that still lets you brake, shift, and steer with confidence.

The Windshear Bike Gloves deliver warmth down into the low 40s using light palm padding rather than a heavy insulated build, which keeps them low-bulk and dexterous. If most of your riding dips below 40 degrees and you want maximum insulation, consider the Windshear Bike Lobster Mitts, which keep fingers grouped together for extra warmth in the same windproof, water-resistant family. Riders who want heavier palm padding alongside thermal protection may prefer the Multi Sport WS Thermo Glove instead.

A warm-weather glove like Terry's T-Gloves is a short-finger design focused on gel padding and road vibration absorption for rides above roughly 60 degrees. The Windshear Bike Gloves solve a completely different problem: cold-weather protection. With full-finger coverage, a windproof 3-layer fleece-backed laminate, and a brushed tricot lining rated into the low 40s, the Windshear Bike Gloves keep your hands warm when temperatures fall. Choose based on the season you're riding, not on padding alone.

Yes. Terry built the Windshear Bike Gloves to women-specific fit standards because there are very few true cold-weather cycling gloves made for women's hands. That fit philosophy focuses on maximizing comfort and minimizing bulk, with pre-curved finger patterning shaped for better dexterity. For riders who've found men's or unisex winter gloves loose, bunchy, or hard to control the bars in, the Windshear Bike Gloves offer a fit tuned to the way women's hands actually sit on the handlebars.

The Windshear Bike Gloves use light palm padding through Ax Suede silicone dot grip patches, which is enough for comfort and secure grip but not a heavily cushioned build. For cold-weather riders whose main concern is warmth and wind protection, that's the right balance, keeping the glove dexterous and low-bulk. If you specifically want heavier palm cushioning to absorb road vibration on longer rides in the cold, the Multi Sport WS Thermo Glove offers more padding in a thermal construction.
